Freshmen Class Council (8/8 - 8/14)
Attention Freshmen! Are you interested in making a difference and representing your class? Join your Class Council! Pick up an application packet from Ms. Switzer’s room, A16. Be sure to submit your completed packet by Thursday, August 14th to be eligible for the election. Don't miss this opportunity to get involved and have your voice heard! Thank you!
Hawai’i State Student Council (8/11-8/20)
Are you ready to take on a leadership role and represent our school at the state level? The Student Association is looking for an Alternate, or Secondary, Hawai‘i State Student Representative — a position that plays an important part in sharing our school’s voice with the Hawai‘i State Student Council. In this role, you’ll attend monthly HSSC meetings and take part in special events throughout the year, working alongside other student leaders from across the state. We’re holding a welcome meeting TODAY in A-16, so stop by and bring a friend! As a board member, you'll be part of a student lead organization, volunteer in service projects, and attend SCU-related activities.

Chromebook Pickup Extended to Tomorrow (8/11 - 8/13)
Students may come to C-215 to pick up their chromebook. As a reminder, you must have a Signed 1 to 1 form and no outstanding obligations.
Club Rush (8/11-13/25)
Hey Vikings! With the new school year here, it’s the perfect time to join a club—or even a few! Come check out Club Rush this Wednesday, August 13th, during lunch in front of the auditorium.
You’ll get to meet different clubs, see what they’re all about, and maybe even find your new favorite activity!
Speaking of Clubs, here are the Club Activities this week
(8/11 - 8/15) Japan Club will be having a meeting on Tuesday, August 12th during lunch, for former and incoming members. They will be discussing fast-approaching events and how to re-enroll in the club, so make sure to be there! As for anyone who is interested in joining Japan Club, they will be discussing the specifics of our club on Friday the 18th, during lunch as well. They will share registration information and what events we will be participating in, in the upcoming school year. You can also come to learn more about the club if you're not sure.
(8/11 - 8/13) Ceramics Club will have a meeting on Wednesday the 13th during lunchtime to get the Google Classroom code and share ideas. They are a chill club that makes fun ceramic artwork throughout the year, so come on by to C-101.
Leo Club Officer Nominations (8/11 - 8/13)
The ballots for LEO Club officers are now in Google Classroom! Please be sure to vote for this year's club officers. Voting will only take place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!
(8/12-15/25) Art Club will have its first general meeting this Friday after school in Ms. Zanetos' room (L-4). New members are welcome to join.
Table Top Gaming Club (8/8-8/13)
If you like board games like D&D, RPG’s, or YugiOh, then the Hilo High Tabletop Club is for you! Come by room A-23 anytime to ask questions.

Other Announcements
There will be a Girls Basketball general meeting with Coach Fred on August 27, 2025 for people interested in playing this season. The meeting will take place immediately after school on the lower patio.

Yearbook Picture Taking (8/5 - 8/8)
Underclassmen picture days are coming up! Picture taking will take place next week Tuesday, August 19th and will continue on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025. All students in grades 9 through 11 will take their school photos during their English Language Arts classes. These photos will go into the Yearbook, so come to school looking your best. Remember to follow the dress code. If you're absent on those days, there will be a make-up picture taking day on September 22nd, 2025.
Senior Portraits (8/6-8/13)
This is your reminder to submit your Senior Portraits by September 20th, 2025. Don’t forget, your baby photo and senior quote are also due at the end of the month, August 30th, 2025. Get them in early to secure your spot in the yearbook! All photos and quotes must be submitted using the QR code on screen. DO NOT email them to us.
