This Week in the Career and College Counseling Office

 

Seattle University representative JR Rabago will be visiting Hilo High TOMORROW, September 17 @ 8:45am during pd 2 and on Thursday, September 18, a group of 6 representatives from Cal Poly SLO, Washington State, UNLV, Pacific University, Oregon Tech, and Portland State will be visiting Hilo High together at 8:30am during pd 1. Please see Ms. Lawrence or Mrs. Frias in N-103 to sign up and pick up a pass.

(9/16) LEO CLUB MEMBERS! A new project was just posted in Google Classroom!  Please be sure to fill out the form even if you cannot attend. If you haven't added yourself into the Google Classroom, please be sure to do so!  The class code is on the screen.

 

(9/11-9/15) Hey Class of 2029 Sharks! Stay connected by checking out your class Instagram page for announcements and upcoming events.

 

Also, Sharks, the search is on for dancers to represent the class in this year’s homecoming! If interested, scan the QR code to sign up, or find the form through the class Instagram page.

 

(9/5-10/19) The PSAT/NMSQT is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025 and Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Those who are in 9th -11th grade, interested in attending college, and taking the SAT should consider taking this practice test to better prepare them for the real SAT. 11th graders who qualify for Free/Reduced lunch tests for free. For all others, the test costs $18. Priority will be given to current 11th grade students.  To register, scan the QR code on the screen.

 

The Blood Bank of Hawaii is in Hilo this week, starting TODAY, September 16th through Thursday, September 18th, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hilo, located at 1373 Kilauea Avenue. To schedule a blood donation appointment, call (808) 848-4770 or visit bbh.org

Students under 18 must have a parent authorization form signed before donating. Forms can be picked up in Mr. Assi’s class, L-2. (Show the parent’s form on screen).

(9/8-9/21) Portrait retakes will take place during period 2 next Monday, September 22nd, 2025 in room C-215. Be sure to get a pass from your period 2 teacher. Students can also come in for retakes before school from 7:30 to 8:00 AM. Need a Photo packet? See Ms. Lawrence in Room N-103.

 

(9/8-9/19) Class of 2028! Want to be featured in this year’s yearbook? Submit a photo of you and your friends from sophomore year, along with a short description and the names of everyone in the picture (in order). Use the QR code on screen to send your submissions. Entries are open through Friday, September 19th. Don’t miss this chance to make your sophomore year unforgettable!

 

(9/9-9/19) Hilo High School Athletics is conducting a survey to gather student interest in athletics. The goal is to explore adding more sports programs in the coming years, and student feedback will guide which sports are considered. The data collected will be used to help make these decisions. Students interested in participating should click the “BIIF Student Interest in Athletics Survey” link on the Hilo High website under News/Athletics.


(8/25-9/22) Have your permit and want to get your license?  Sign up for Driver Education classes!  Go to the HHS website, click on 'Programs & Activities', select 'Driver Ed', and click on 'click here to sign up for Driver Ed'.  Click on 'Student Enrollment Form' for Hilo High School, and fill out the Google form. The next class starts in October.  Watch your email, because if you miss the RSVP email, you will need to sign up again!
