Today at Hilo High School
Hey Vikings! Starting TODAY, lunch will be served in the cafeteria only! The patio kiosk has been discontinued, but there will be two lunch lines to help things move fast. Again, lunch will be served in the cafeteria only!
A second round of Federal Impact Aid surveys will be distributed during pd. 2 TODAY for all students who still haven't returned theirs. If you receive a survey, please take it home, have your guardian complete it, and turn it in as soon as possible to the main office or to your teacher. The Federal Impact Aid surveys helps our school receive federal funding!
Bright Spot
A big Viking congratulations to the Environmental Agents of Change Club!
The club’s incredible work, called "The Lunch Project: Number 6," is currently featured at the 2025 Trash Show at Wailoa Center and has been awarded second place among a hundred entries.
This project, which began last year in collaboration with ‘Zero Waste Hawaii Island’ and artist Marco Garcia, focused on the impact of plastic #6 on human health, the environment, and future generations. The hard work and dedication demonstrated over several months are now on display for the entire community to view. From now until October 30, the public is encouraged to check out the project, along with other creations by local artists, all promoting a more sustainable future for our island. Keep up the great work!
What’s New Vikings?
(10/3-10/15) Anyone interested in diving? Do you have a current physical? Do you like trying new things? Join the Hilo High School Dive Team, starting Oct 15th at Kawa-moto Pool. For more information please stop by N101, Ms. Naukana's classroom during recess this week until Oct 15th.
(10/1-10/3) As a reminder, faculty and staff nominations for this year’s Hilo High Hall of Fame closes TOMORROW, October 14th. Voting begins next week—don’t miss your chance to recognize outstanding Vikings!
In Case You Missed It Vikings
(9/29-10/16) Sports physicals will be offered here at Hilo High School on Thursday, October 16th in the Health Room. These physicals are by appointment only—no walk-ins will be accepted. Parents and students are encouraged to make a physical appointment with their primary care provider first. However, this clinic is available for those who are unable to get them from their PCP. To register, please scan the QR code on the screen.
