Today at Hilo High School
(10/16-10/17) There will be a HOSA meeting TODAY, October 17th, during lunch in Mr. Assi's room L-2. Attendance is MANDATORY as major competition updates will be discussed. Members who have not yet paid the $15 dues should bring them to the meeting
(10/16-10/17) A mandatory EAC club meeting will be held TODAY, October 17th during lunch in Mr. Souza’s room C-123. The meeting will be brief, lasting only a few minutes.
(10/17) Japan Club will be having a meeting TODAY, Friday the 17th, during lunch. You will be discussing upcoming events and updated requirements for the Japan trip, and passing out club t-shirts.
(10/17) Today’s the last day to vote for this year’s Faculty and Staff Hall of Fame! Celebrate the teachers and staff who make Hilo High special by voting for those who best fit each category. Voting closes TODAY, so don’t miss your chance to honor the amazing Vikings who make a difference every day!
What’s New Vikings?
(10/17-10/24) Are you interested in law, debate, or public speaking? Then join the Mock Trial Club Association! Learn how real courtroom trials work, practice arguing cases, and build skills in teamwork and persuasion. No experience needed, just bring your curiosity and voice!
(10/17-11/2) Interested in joining Girls basketball? Tryouts will be on Nov 3rd, 4th and 5th from 6pm to 7:45pm in the New Gym.
(10/16-10/18) Class of 2028! Your class is looking for volunteers to help with decorating the sophomore section at the pool on Sunday for Homecoming. If you want to help please see Mrs. Sam in R13 to sign up.
Also, class of 2028 dancers, just a friendly reminder that dance practice will be in the old gym during lunch recess and after school daily.
(10/15-10/17) Viking Band Car Wash Fundraiser
Come support the Viking Band this weekend! The band will be holding their car wash fundraiser this Saturday, October 18th, 2025 at Puainako KTA from 9 AM to 2 PM. It’s $10 for a wash! Stop on by and help support our band!

(10/13-10/17) A second round of Federal Impact Aid surveys were distributed on Monday. If you received one, don't forget to turn them in! You can either bring them to the main office or give them to your teacher.

Other Announcements
(10/14-11/10) Boys varsity and junior varsity basketball tryouts will be held on November 10th thru Nov 12th from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the new gym. All athletes trying out will need to fill out the required athlete forms found on the Hilo High website under the athletics tab.
In addition, players are also required to sign up for tryouts in Building F, room 85.
