Aloha e and Happy Holidays,
We would like to invite you to a Hilo High PTSA Initial Meeting on:
Friday, December 26, 2025
5:30 PM
Hilo High School – Cafeteria
The purpose of this meeting is to take a first concrete step toward re-establishing the Hilo High PTSA. While the conversation will be welcoming and informal, the intent is to leave the meeting with shared clarity around purpose, direction, and next steps.
We are also grateful to have the president of Waiākea High’s PTSA, Gavin Tanouye, join us to share their experience and provide guidance as we restart.
There is no expectation of long-term commitment by attending. This meeting is simply an opportunity to help shape the direction and determine what feels meaningful and manageable for our school community.
Proposed Meeting Agenda:
-
Welcome and context for restarting the Hilo High PTSA
-
Overview of the role and purpose of a PTSA at the high school level
-
Brief guidance from the Waiākea High PTSA president, including:
-
What the restart process looks like
-
What is required versus flexible in the early stages
-
-
Discussion of priorities that feel meaningful and realistic for Year 1
-
Identifying next steps, including:
-
Interest in a short-term planning or interim group
-
Scheduling a follow-up meeting and board establishment
-
We appreciate you taking the time to join us, especially during the holiday season, and look forward to moving this work forward together in support of our students and school community.
Mahalo for your time and happy holidays to you all,
Adrian De Mello
Principal, Hilo High School
