Here’s What’s New Vikings
(1/21-1/27) This is your last chance to order your yearbook and name plates! Orders close January 27th. Not sure if you've already ordered? Check the list outside Ms. Switzer's room (A-17). Don't miss out on getting your yearbook!
(1/21-1/23) Quarter 2 accomplishments are being recognized for Ho‘oulu Academy students and students in Agriculture, Culinary, Fire, Law, and Nursing! Students who earned perfect attendance (with no tardies or absences) and/or achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher with no D’s or F’s will receive a coupon on Thursday, January 22. Students who receive a coupon may redeem it for a free ice cake by visiting Mrs. Pang’s room, L1, during morning or lunch recess only, on Thursday, January 22 or Friday, January 23. Coupons must be redeemed on these dates and times only, no exceptions.If a coupon was not received, keep pushing forward—Quarter 3 is another opportunity to earn a reward.
(1/21-2/6) There will be a Girls Water Polo Parent meeting on Friday, February 6th, 2026 at the Multi-Purpose Room in the New Gym at 5pm.
(1/21-1/22) Are you interested in being in Hilo High's first ever dance club? Come to R21, Mrs. Masuyama's room on Thursday, Jan 22 during lunch for an informational meeting! No dance experience needed, just bring a positive attitude.

(1/13–1/23) The annual Teen Health and Traffic Safety Fair will be held on Thursday, February 12, in the upper parking lot. Clubs are invited to participate by hosting a booth or activity. Interested clubs should scan the QR code and complete the Google Form. For more information, see Ms. Switzer in A-17 or email Mariella Wasserman at [email protected]
(1/13-2/2) Varsity baseball tryouts will be held on February 2nd, 2026 at 3:30 PM at Wong Stadium. If you have any questions, contact Coach Baba at [email protected]
(1/8-1/22) All 10th to 12th graders, the next ASVAB is on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026. The test will be in C-217 and will start promptly at 8:00 AM. If you are planning on joining the military post-high school, you will need to take the ASVAB.Email Mrs. Fukushima at [email protected] to reserve your spot.The number of test-takers per session is 20 on a first come first served basis. Reserve your spot by January 22, 2026.

(1/8-2/4)The PreACT is scheduled for March 2nd, 2026 to March 6th, 2026. This PreACT test is FREE and ONLY open to current 9th and 10th graders currently attending Hilo High School. Students who are in the 9th and 10th grade interested in attending college and want to prepare for the ACT should consider taking this practice test to better prepare them for the real ACT. Test dates will depend on the amount of students signed up. To register, fill out the Google form at hilohigh.org/preact26. Registration will close on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
