Thank you, you may now be seated. February is Hawaiian Language Month! In celebration of that, there are several special additions to our morning bulletin.

(1/13-2/2) Varsity baseball tryouts will be held TODAY February 2nd, 2026 at 3:30 PM at Wong Stadium. If you have any questions, contact Coach Baba at [email protected]
(2/2-2/3) Varsity Softball Tryouts are scheduled for TODAY, February 2nd and TOMORROW, February 3rd, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Kapiolani Elementary Softball Field. If you have any questions, please reach out to coach Devin at (808) 960-2451
Here’s What’s New Vikings
(2/2-2/12) Tennis Tryouts begin next Monday, February 9 to Wednesday, February 11. The times are as follows:
February 9: Girls 3–4:30 PM, Boys 4:30–6PM
February 10: Boys 3–4:30 PM, Girls 4:30–6PM
February 11: Boys AND Girls from 4 to 6 PM
A current physical and all completed Rank One forms are required to participate. For questions, see Coach Leanne in F-Building.
(2/2-2/4) Are you interested in learning a hula? If so, then you are in luck! For the month of February and Hawaiian language month, the hula class will be offering classes during lunch in Kumu ʻAwaʻs class (K101) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It is recommended that you attend all 8 classes as you will be learning a specific hula with an opportunity to perform it alongside the hula class at the end of the month. If you are interested, please scan the QR code to sign up.
(2/2-2/5) Get excited, Vikings! “National” Days are back to add more fun this semester! The first celebration is National Nutella Day on February 5th. Bring friends and head to the front of the auditorium during lunch to take part in a fast-paced unwrapping game for some sweet prizes. Don’t miss out!
(1/30-2/2) Ho‘oulu Academy students! Did you know Ho‘oulu Academy is built on five core values?
Aloha — caring and compassion
Kuleana — responsibility and privilege
Mālama — stewardship and care
Hō‘ihi — respect
and Na‘auao (na-au-wow) — wisdom
Throughout this quarter, academy teachers, counselors, and staff will be on the look out for students who demonstrate these values. Students nominated for showing these values will be randomly chosen each week to receive a treat! Each week will focus on a different value. This week will be focused on Aloha, followed by Kuleana, Mālama, and so on, then the cycle begins again. So do your best to show and share your ALOHA this week.
