[KVIKS NEWS BULLETIN INTRO]
Good morning Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S News Bulletin for Wednesday, March 4th, 2026. My name is Caitlin. Today's periods are 2, 4, and 6.
Today at Hilo High School
(3/3-3/6) Seniors! Itʻs the last week before prom! Donʻt forget that bid pickup and seat selection will begin TODAY, March 4th through Friday March 6th outside of Ms. Switzer's room A-16. Remember if you are bringing a guest they are going to be sitting with you. Be sure to go early and secure your spot!
Here’s What’s New Vikings
(3/3-3/5) LEO Club members! There is going to be a meeting this Thursday, March 5th, in Ms. T’s room C217B. You will be going over upcoming projects. Hope to see you there!
(3/4-3/6) Support the Hilo High Surf Team this Saturday at Honoliʻi for the first BIIFs Surf Meet. Surf Heats start early, so bring your beach chair, sunglasses and sunscreen--and get ready to see some shredding and style surf action. Root on HHS Surf as they challenge other surf teams from around the Big Island.
(3/3-3/6) Congratulations to the following Ho‘oulu Academy students who demonstrated the value of Kuleana from February 23-27! Kallie Kiriu, Keoni Bauer, Leeah Cristobal-Bennett, Mahina Maag, and Xena Guerrero. Keep up the good work and your tickets for your free Ice Cake will be passed out to you in your classes.
Ho‘oulu Academy, there’s still a chance to win a free Ice Cake. Five students who demonstrate the Value of the Week are selected each week. From March 2-13, the focus is Mālama, which means to care for, protect, and nurture our people, spaces, programs, and ʻāina. Mālama builds on Kuleana—if Kuleana is understanding responsibility, Mālama is putting it into action every day.
Teachers and staff are encouraged to recognize students who show Mālama in the weeks ahead.
In Case You Missed it Vikings
