Good morning Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S News Bulletin for Monday, April 13th, 2026. My name is Tyra. Today's periods are 2, STARS, 4, and 6.

(4/9-4/13) Ohayo Japan Club members! There will be a meeting TODAY, during lunch in Room P-3. Anyone who has not yet completed volunteer hours is strongly encouraged to attend. Volunteer forms for upcoming events will be discussed and handed out. All club members are encouraged to be there.

(4/10-4/14) Congratulations to the following Vikings who placed “Best in Category” at the Hawaii State Science and Engineering Fair: 

Bryan Assi & Austyn Bugado -1st Place in Earth & Environmental Science

Sky Bardwell-Jones - 1st Place in Environmental Engineering

Finn Balzotti & Nina Moss - 2nd Place in Software Design

Here’s What’s New Vikings  

 

(4/13-4/14) EAC Members! There will be an important meeting TOMORROW, Tuesday, April 14, during lunch in Room C-123. You are moving into your final projects of the year, and everyone’s opinions and attendance to finish the school year strong is needed! See the Club Google Classroom for more details.

 

(4/14-4/17) Aloha Ho‘āla Academy! The Quarter 3 Ice Shave Incentive is coming up. Students with no D’s or F’s, at least 95% attendance, and no A or B referrals will receive a ticket. Bring the ticket to the front of the auditorium during lunch on Friday, April 17 to receive shaved ice.

(4/13-4/17) Just a reminder, Vikings: Summer Program registration is still open. If you have any classes you need to make up, the Hilo High Summer Program is accepting your registration.  As usual, the Summer Program is FREE to Hilo High students, and is a great way to earn up to 1 credit. The program runs from  June 2 to July 13, Monday through Friday, 8:00 - 11:30 AM, with free breakfast and lunch available. On-time attendance is required, so be sure you are able to commit to the entire 6-week session. Scan the QR code on the flyer to register. For questions, see Vice Principal Fernandez or Mrs. Frias. The deadline is May 15 or when courses fill up.

(4/1-4/13) The Hilo High Senior Summit and CTE Fair is happening this week. Learn about career pathways on campus and see work-based learning students in action. Students, families, and community members are welcome. The event is Wednesday, April 15, from 4 to 6 PM at the Hilo High main campus. RSVP at bit.ly/seniorsummithhs. Food from Ishida’s Kitchen and Ala’s Smash Burger will be available for purchase.
