Hawai'i Youth Prevention Summit Community Workshops

There are two Hawai‘i Youth Prevention Summit Community Workshops coming up.  In efforts to accommodate busy schedules, you can choose from one of the three 1-hr sessions to attend.

 

Wednesday, July 22nd at West Hawai‘i Civic Center Community Hale from 9am – 3pm (three 1-hr sessions)

 

Thursday, July 23rd at UH Hilo UCB 127 “Fish Bowl” from 9am – 3pm (three 1-hr sessions)

 

Hawai‘i  Youth Prevention is made up of prevention specialists and professionals from different agencies and organizations, a collaborative approach to support current prevention efforts and potentially partner to enhance those efforts.

 

The community workshop’s focus is to bring youth, parents, educators, community leaders, prevention professionals, and caring adults together and provide practical tools and opportunities to connect with others that are interested in providing healthier communities for youth.

 

What you will learn:

 

  • Current youth substance trends in Hawai‘i
  • What works and what doesn’t in youth substance use prevention
  • How adults can support youth leadership and advocacy
  • Strategies for strengthening youth protective factors
  • Building positive school/ community environments

Who Should Attend: Parents/caregivers, Educators/school staff, Youth-serving professionals, Community organizations, Coaches,  Healthcare professionals, Faith-based leaders, Media, Anyone interested in supporting Hawai‘i’s youth.
