Here’s What’s New Vikings
Student Fee Payments and Obligations
If you haven’t yet paid your school fees, or obligations, the office is accepting payments only during recess, lunch and after school. Students should not be coming to make payments during class time.
Chromebook Pickup and Replacement
Please go to the LRC this week during Recess, Lunch and Afterschool to pickup or replace your Chromebook. Students are highly expected to bring their designated school computer with them to class. There is a limited supply of Chromebooks per class. The computer you were issued is not to be kept at home, it should be used on campus as part of your learning.
Replacement IDs and Fingerprint Scanning
To check out for lunch, simply present your ID or scan your fingerprint. If you don’t have your ID, or if your fingerprint is not yet enrolled, please go to the LRC during recess, lunch and afterschool. As a reminder, students are still able to pick up a meal if they do not have an ID card or registered barcode. An issue with the barcodes during yesterday’s lunch service has been fixed.
Ho’ala Ambassador Meeting
Attention Ho'ala Ambassadors! There will be a meeting during lunch this Friday, August the 7th, in Mr. Nakasato's classroom, A-17. All ambassadors are asked to attend as the group will be going over plans for the upcoming school year.
Youth Car Show
On Saturday, August 15th, the Hilo Drag Strip will host the Island Showdown, featuring a youth car show and drag race. This free event is sponsored by the County of Hawaii, the Prosecuting Attorney's office, HI-PAL, and the Hawaii County Fire Department. Nalukai Academy Program
Explore social entrepreneurship with the Nalukai Fall 2026 Academy! This program runs during Fall Break, October 5th through 9th, from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM at UH Hilo’s College of Hawaiian Language building. Students will build key leadership skills and will also receive a laptop to keep! Scan the QR code on the screen to sign up by September 13th.

(5/22-9/1) It’s time to help create the cover for the 2026–2027 yearbook themed: Rooted to Rise. Submit your artwork for a chance to have your design featured on the yearbook cover. To submit artwork, scan the QR code posted around campus or on the bulletin slides. Submissions close on Tuesday, September 1st, so make sure your artwork is turned in on time. Thank you for helping create this year’s yearbook!
