Japan Club Meeting (8/19-8/24)

Ohayo Gozaimasu to all returning Japan Club members, and good morning to any students interested in joining! Japan Club will be having a 

general membership meeting TODAY, August 24th, during lunch recess in Shehata Sensei's classroom, Room P-3. They will go over club activities, dues, fees, and more! Mata Ne!

 

Environmental Agents of Change (EAC) Club Meeting [8/24/26]

Aloha EAC Members! There will be a mandatory meeting TODAY, Monday, August 24th, during lunch in Mr. Souza’s room, C-123. If you are not a member yet but want to find out more about the Environmental Agents of Change club, check them out during Club Rush tomorrow! You can also stop by Room C-123 to talk story with Mr. Souza, or email [email protected].

Rescheduled Underclassman Picture Taking

School photos for grades 9 through 11 have been rescheduled to Tuesday, August 25th, and Wednesday, August 26th. Picture taking is free, but if you would like to order prints, scan the QR code on the screen and enter access code B2M5E. You can also visit the school website for the link and more information.

 

Ceramics Club Meeting (8/24-8/26)

The first ceramics club meeting is on Wednesday, August 26, during Lunch in C-101. The meeting will discuss future events and brainstorm ideas. Membership is just $10. See you there!

Hilo Viking Robotics Team (8/17-8/20)

As Club Rush approaches, consider joining the Hilo Viking Robotics Club! Practices have already started after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in H-Building, and they are looking forward to meeting interested new members. Girls Basketball

Any girls interested in playing basketball this upcoming season, there is a mandatory meeting at the old gym today, 6:15pm to 7:45pm. Thank you!

 

Taiko Tryouts

Are you interested in learning the art and spirit of Taiko? The Hilo High Taiko Club is holding its tryouts on August 26, 27 and September 2, and 3rd. Wednesdays at 3:15 to 4:00 and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:15! Don't miss out on this great opportunity to learn about Taiko playing and other aspects of Japanese culture! Reach out to our Club President Aloura May, Club advisor Shehata Sensei, or visit her classroom in room P-3. Hope to see you there!

Performing Arts Learning Center

Are you interested in acting, singing, dancing, or just working backstage? PALC sign ups are happening NOW! Form pick ups are located in the Auditorium and Front Office. These are due on August 25th, 2026, which just so happens to be PALC's first meeting! There is an additional Parent Meeting on August 20th, 2026 to go over the events happening throughout the school year. Thank you!

 

Senior Mob Shot (8/17-9/22)

SENIORS! The date for Senior Mob shot has been decided! Please come to school with your completed signs on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026. Mob shot will take place in the New Gym during your Advisory class and your sign will need to meet these specifications in order to be included: Your sign should not be any larger than 24 by 18 inches, your sign must contain ONLY appropriate subjects like Name, Love, and Place, and your sign must NOT contain any cursing or profanity, contraband, or inappropriate themes. If your sign fails to meet one or more of these specifications, it will not be permitted.

 

(5/22-9/1) It’s time to help create the cover for the 2026–2027 yearbook themed: Rooted to Rise. Submit your artwork for a chance to have your design featured on the yearbook cover. To submit artwork, scan the QR code posted around campus or on the bulletin slides. Submissions close on Tuesday, September 1st, so make sure your artwork is turned in on time. Thank you for helping create this year’s yearbook!

 

PAAC

Aloha Viks! Are you hungry after school? The Pacific & Asian Affairs Council, also known as the PAAC Club, will be selling cup noodles after school every Tuesday and Thursday in Shehata Senseiʻs room in P-3 from 2:15 pm to 2:45 pm. This fundraiser will support our trip to the Jeju International Youth Forum in South Korea in October! Thank you!
