Did you know that September is Hawaiian History Month. So here’s a fun history fact. The Hawaiian flag was printed in color in the Nupepa Kuoko’a in 1862. 30 years before the first color picture was printed in a US newspaper. History is fun.

Homecoming Packet Pick Up and Turn In (9/02-9/04)
If you are interested in running for Homecoming Court, TODAY is the last day to pick up an application packet in Room B-34! All completed packets are due on Tuesday, September 8th.
ASVAB (10/27-9/4)
Attention all 10th through 12th graders! TODAY is the last day to reserve your spot for the upcoming ASVAB test. The test will be administered next Thursday, September 10th, starting promptly at 8:00 AM in Room C-217. Space is limited to just 20 test-takers on a first-come, first-served basis! Softball Informational Meeting (9/4-9/8)
Attention all girls interested in playing JV or Varsity softball this coming season. There will be an informational meeting on September 8th, at 3:15pm at the patio. If you or your friends are interested in playing please come by to hear some information.
EAC Google Classroom (9/4-9/8)
Aloha EAC Club members! Here is a quick reminder to regularly check the club's Google Classroom throughout the school year. Currently there are important details regarding club forms and officer nominations and Due Dates. If you are unable to attend a meeting or an event see the Google Classroom to catch up on what you missed. Junior Rally Postponed (09/01-09/04)
Attention Vikings! The Denim Takeover Rally and dress-up day has been postponed. Stay tuned for future announcements regarding the rescheduled date and time
Dive Team Conditioning (9/3-9/14)
Conditioning for the Hilo High School Dive Team will start on Sept 15th. Please have a current physical completed and submitted to Athletics (Rank One). Stop by Ms. Naukana 's classroom N101 for more information.

On Tuesday, September 8th, the University of
Pujet Sound, located in Tacoma, Washington, will be here during Pd 3 at 10:15am.
On Thursday, September 10th, Oregon Institute of Technology, located in clamyth Falls, Oregon, will be here during Pd 3 at 10:15am.
And on Friday, September 11th, Washington University in St Louis, located in St. Louis, Missouri, will be here during Pd 2 at 9:55am.
If you are interested in learning about any of these colleges, please go to Mrs. Frias' room, N-103, to sign up and pick up a pass. These sessions are open to all grade levels.

Happy Financial Friday, Vikings! With hurricane season here, remember that preparing early can save you money too. Stocking up little by little on essentials like water, batteries, and nonperishable food can help your family avoid one big last-minute expense when a storm is approaching. Stay prepared, stay safe, and remember the student credit union is open at the LRC during lunch, stop by!

Senior Mob Shot (8/17-9/22)
SENIORS! The date for Senior Mob shot has been decided! Please come to school with your completed signs on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026. Mob shot will take place in the New Gym during your Advisory class and your sign will need to meet these specifications in order to be included: Your sign should not be any larger than 24 by 18 inches, your sign must contain ONLY appropriate subjects like Name, Love, and Place, and your sign must NOT contain any cursing or profanity, contraband, or inappropriate themes. If your sign fails to meet one or more of these specifications, it will not be permitted.
[VIDEO] PAAC Ramen Fundraiser
Aloha Viks! Are you hungry after school? The Pacific & Asian Affairs Council, also known as the PAAC Club, will be selling cup noodles after school every Tuesday and Thursday in Shehata Senseiʻs room in P-3 from 2:15 pm to 2:45 pm. This fundraiser will support our trip to the Jeju International Youth Forum in South Korea in October! Thank you!
