Senior Parent Night (9/8-9/10)
At 5:30 PM tonight at the Pool, we will be having our Senior Parent night. Before the meeting will be a mini college fair at 4:45 PM. This is the first way you can get a commencement ticket, so be sure a parent or guardian can attend.
KVIKS Meeting (9/9-9/10)
If you are interested in joining KVIKS Media, or are planning to return, please join our first general meeting today at room C-219. We will go over upcoming activities including broadcasting and photography opportunities. If you can’t make it because you are attending other interests, feel free to check out our website, kviks.org for meeting information later today.
Speech and Debate Fundraiser (9/9–9/11)
Speech and Debate club will be selling Lili-pops everyday after school for the rest of the semester in A12a, Ms. Baum's room for the first half hour or as long as the door is open. Liliipops are delicious frozen popsicles in local flavors. They cost $3 and come in the following flavors: Lilikoi, White Pineapple, Dragonfruit Lemon-Lime, Hibiscus Cinnamon, Matcha, Coffee, and Lemon-Lime.

Ho'ala Academy Parent Meeting Night (9/9-9/11)
This Sunday, September 13, there will be an online Parents’ Meeting from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. Concerns with Infinite Campus and mid-quarter grades will be discussed. Families can join through Google Meet using the link or the QR code on the slide. Questions can be directed to Ms. Joell Kerr or Mr. Todd Sato.
ACE Sessions (9/9-12/14)
Students who need to make up unexcused absences shall attend ACE sessions on select Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the semester. ACE is held at the Cafeteria, and you must stay for the entire session, bring your student ID, and have schoolwork or a book to work on. Hawaii Blood Bank Drive Next Week (9/6 - 9/17)
Did you know that only 2% of Hawaii's population donates blood annually? And 150 to 200 donors are needed every day? Let's beat this challenge!!!
Blood Bank of Hawaii is returning to Hilo for a Blood Drive at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1373 Kilauea Avenue Hilo, Hawaii from Tuesday, September 15 to Thursday September 17, 2026.
There is no walk in appointments, please call them at (808) 848-4770 or find more information on hilohigh.org to schedule your lifesaving appointment. Please provide the Hilo High School Lifesaver Club sponsor code (383) to the BBH staff when you arrive for your appointment.

Dive Team Conditioning (9/3-9/14)
Conditioning for the Hilo High School Dive Team will start on Sept 15th. Please have a current physical completed and submitted to Athletics via Rank One. Stop by Ms. Naukana 's classroom N101 for more information.
This week in College and Career
Today, Oregon Institute of Technology will be here during Period 3 at 10:15 AM. If you have a pass, go to room N-103 by that time.
Tomorrow, during Period 2 at 9:55 AM, Washington University in St. Louis, located in Missouri will be visiting.
Go to Mrs. Frias’ room N-103 to sign up and pick up a pass. These sessions are open to all grade levels.
Boeing Mechanical Engineer Talk (9/8-9/11)
Are you interested in engineering and aviation? Stephen Pauelua, a mechanical engineer for Boeing, will be visiting our school tomorrow at 8:30 AM. If you want to attend, see Mrs. Blair in room BB102 to get a pass.
PSAT Testing (9/9-9/17)
For those who are in the 9th through 11th grade, the next PSAT/N-M-S-Q-T test is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
Waivers are available for 11th graders who qualify for Free/Reduced lunch. For all others, the test costs $18. Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis with priority given to current 11th grade students on the first day of registration. There will be no make-up PSAT testing.
Registration requires your school ID and a payment of $18 dollars, exact cash only. Cancellations are non-refundable. Registration will be during recess and lunch in C-217 on the following dates:
For Juniors, Wednesday, September 16, 2026
For Grades 9-11 - Thursday, September 17, and Friday the 18th, 2026 (if seats are available)
If you are interested in attending college, and taking the SAT in the future, you should consider taking this practice test to better prepare you for the real SAT. This PSAT/NMSQT test is only open to HILO HIGH Students.

Senior Mob Shot (8/17-9/22)
SENIORS! The date for Senior Mob shot has been decided! Please come to school with your completed signs on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026. Mob shot will take place in the New Gym during your Advisory class and your sign will need to meet these specifications in order to be included: Your sign should not be any larger than 24 by 18 inches, your sign must contain ONLY appropriate subjects like Name, Love, and Place, and your sign must NOT contain any cursing or profanity, contraband, or inappropriate themes. If your sign fails to meet one or more of these specifications, it will not be permitted.

Aloha Viks! Are you hungry after school? The Pacific & Asian Affairs Council, also known as the PAAC Club, will be selling cup noodles after school every Tuesday and Thursday in Shehata Senseiʻs room in P-3 from 2:15 pm to 2:45 pm. This fundraiser will support our trip to the Jeju International Youth Forum in South Korea in October! Thank you!
