Student Credit Union (9/14/2026)

The Student Credit Union has a goal to promote financial literacy and help students learn more about managing their money. They are having their monthly board meeting TODAY during lunch in Mr. Peralta’s room, C-127. If you’re interested in learning more about SCU, getting involved, or just want to stop by for some pizza, come on by! 

 

Girl’s Basketball Conditioning (9/14-10/30)

Any girls that are interested in playing basketball this upcoming season, conditioning is Monday,  Wednesday and Friday from 6:15pm to 8:50pm. And Weightlifting is Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 7pm. Any questions can contact coach fred collins 808-989-7343.

 

AD Appreciation Week (9/14-9/18)

This week is athletic administrators week.  This is a time to honor the individuals who make a lasting impact on our school and in our community.  This week, we would like to recognize our athletic directors Mr. Dan Lyons and Mrs. Deven Bukoski, whose dedication ensures that student-athletes have safe, meaningful, and memorable experiences.  Thank you, Mr. Lyons and Mrs. Bukoski, for your leadership and everything that you do to instill Viking Pride in our school community, we appreciate you!

Junior Class Rally (9/14-9/28)

Panthers, the wait is over! The Junior Class Denim Takeover Rally is happening this Friday, September 18th, during lunch in front of B‑Building! You’ve seen the buzz, you’ve heard the hype, now it’s time to show up and show out. Slip into your favorite denim and get ready for games, laughter, and that unstoppable Panther energy. The Denim Takeover is ON! Let’s go Panthers!

 

EAC Club (9/14-9/15)

EAC members! Officer nominations have closed, and voting begins this Tuesday, September 15th. Check Google Classroom to see if you were nominated. If nominated, please attend Tuesday's meeting and be prepared to share why you'd like to serve or to formally decline your nomination. Voting will open immediately following the meeting! To learn more about the Environmental Agents of Change Club, stop by Room C-123 or email Mr. Souza at [email protected].

 

Bus Application (9/14-9/18)

The quarter 2 bus application window is now open!  Applications can be submitted online or you can pick up a paper application from the main office.  If you will be riding the bus for quarter 2, remember to apply as soon as possible.

May Day Committee (9/11-9/16)

It's preparation time again for this year's May Day!  If you are interested in being a part of this year's committee please come to Room C121 Ms. Whitehall on Thursday September 17 during lunch for a meeting and sign up.

 

ACE Sessions (9/9-12/14)

Students who need to make up unexcused absences shall attend ACE sessions on select Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the semester. ACE is held at the Cafeteria, and you must stay for the entire session, bring your student ID, and have schoolwork or a book to work on. The first ACE session is next week Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 8 AM. Remember Vikings, Attendance Cultivates Excellence

 

Hawaii Blood Bank Drive Next Week (9/6 - 9/17)

Help save lives this week! The Blood Bank of Hawaii is hosting a blood drive Tuesday, September 15th through Thursday, September 17th at the LDS Church on Kilauea Avenue.

 

Drive hours are Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Thursday from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

 

Appointments are required. Schedule yours at hilohigh.org or call (808) 848-4770, and be sure to use Hilo High sponsor code 383. Students, pick up your required parent consent form in Mr. Assi’s room, L-2, before you go!

 

Dive Team Conditioning (9/3-9/14)

Conditioning for the Hilo High School Dive Team will start TOMORROW Sept 15th. Please have a current physical completed and submitted to Athletics via Rank One. Stop by Ms. Naukana 's classroom  N101 for more information.

This week in College and Career

 

PSAT Testing (9/9-9/17)

Attention 9th through 11th graders! The PSAT/NMSQT is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21st, and is great practice if you plan to take the SAT for college.

 

Registration takes place in Room C-217 during recess and lunch on a first-come, first-served basis. Juniors register first on Wednesday, September 16th, and all 9th through 11th graders can register on September 17th and 18th if seats remain.

 

Please bring $18 exact cash and your school ID. Fee waivers are available for qualifying 11th graders, and there will be no make-up testing. This test is open exclusively to Hilo High students!

 

Senior Mob Shot (8/17-9/22)

SENIORS! The date for Senior Mob shot has been decided! Please come to school with your completed signs on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026. Mob shot will take place in the New Gym during your Advisory class and your sign will need to meet these specifications in order to be included: Your sign should not be any larger than 24 by 18 inches, your sign must contain ONLY appropriate subjects like Name, Love, and Place, and your sign must NOT contain any cursing or profanity, contraband, or inappropriate themes. If your sign fails to meet one or more of these specifications, it will not be permitted.

 

[VIDEO] PAAC Ramen Fundraiser

Aloha Viks! Are you hungry after school? The Pacific & Asian Affairs Council, also known as the PAAC Club, will be selling cup noodles after school every Tuesday and Thursday in Shehata Senseiʻs room in P-3 from 2:15 pm to 2:45 pm. This fundraiser will support our trip to the Jeju International Youth Forum in South Korea in October! Thank you!
