Hawaii Blood Bank Drive (9/6 - 9/17)
TODAY is the LAST DAY of the Blood Bank of Hawaii drive at the LDS Church on Kilauea Avenue! Drive hours today are from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Appointments are required. Check the Hilo High website for scheduling information and be sure to use sponsor code 383. Students, pick up your required parent consent form in Mr. Assi’s room, L-2, before you go!

Lilipops Coupons (9/16-9/17)
Along with selling Lilipops, Speech and Debate is now offering $3 Lilipop Gift Certificates!
If you'd like to buy a certificate to gift to a friend or treat yourself, stop by Room A-12a. Lilipops can be picked up any day after school.
Senior Mob Shot (8/17-9/22)
Attention Seniors! Senior Mob Shot is happening on Wednesday, September 23rd, in the New Gym during Advisory! As a reminder, signs must be no larger than 24 by 18 inches and contain appropriate content only. no profanity, contraband, or inappropriate themes. Non-compliant signs will not be permitted.
Senior Portraits Due Soon (9/15-9/20)
Seniors! Just a reminder that Senior Portraits are due on September 20, 2026. Please submit portraits using the QR code on the screen. If you have any questions, see Miss Takase in room L-3.
Girl’s Basketball Conditioning (9/14-10/30)
Any girls that are interested in playing basketball this upcoming season, conditioning is Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:15pm to 7:50pm. And Weightlifting is Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 7pm. For any questions you can contact coach fred collins with the number on the screen.
Bus Application (9/14-9/18)
The quarter 2 bus application window is now open! Applications can be submitted online or you can pick up a paper application from the main office. If you will be riding the bus for quarter 2, remember to apply as soon as possible.

PSAT Testing (9/9-9/17)
Attention 9th through 11th graders! The PSAT/NMSQT is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21st, and is great practice if you plan to take the SAT for college. Registration takes place in Room C-217 during recess and lunch on a first-come, first-served basis. All 9th through 11th graders can register on September 17th and 18th pending seat availability. Please bring $18 exact cash and your school ID. Fee waivers are available for qualifying 11th graders, and there will be no make-up testing. This test is open exclusively to Hilo High students!
Junior Class Rally (9/14-9/28)
Panthers, the wait is over! The Junior Class Denim Takeover Rally is happening TOMORROW, September 18th, during lunch in front of B‑Building! You’ve seen the buzz, you’ve heard the hype, now it’s time to show up and show out. Slip into your favorite denim and get ready for games, laughter, and that unstoppable Panther energy. The Denim Takeover is ON! Let’s go Panthers!
This Week in the Career and College Counseling Office
TODAY, September 17th The University of Hawai'i at Manoa will be here at 10:15am during pd 3.
TOMORROW, September 18th, Pitzer College in California will be here at 10:20am during pd 3.
And on Monday, September 21st, Chaminade University of Honolulu will be here at 8:45am during pd 2.
If you are interested in learning more about any of these universities, please see Mrs. Frias in N-103 to sign up and pick up a pass.

[VIDEO] Seal of Biliteracy (9/15-9/18)
Hey Class of 2027 Seniors! Do you speak and understand any other languages besides English? If so, you could qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy Award at our graduation. If you are interested in learning more about the Seal of Biliteracy test and how you could earn the award, please come to a meeting in Mrs. Frias’ classroom N-102 on Friday, September 18th at the start of lunch recess. Hey Vikings! The Hilo High LEO Club will be hosting a school-wide canned food drive from Wednesday, September 16, til Wednesday, September 30. All donations can be dropped off at either Ms. T's classroom in C-217A or Ms. Farmer's classroom in R-12. All food donated will be donated to the Food Bank of Hawaii or the Hawaii Food Basket. Come and show your support. Thank you!

Junior HOCO Dance Practices (9/14-9/25)
Homecoming dance practice for the Junior class are held on Mondays and Wednesdays during lunch recess in Mr. Baldado's room and after school in the cafeteria until 2:30 p.m. See you there!
Picture Taking Makeups (9/15-9/23)
If you missed picture day, don't worry! Picture taking makeup will be on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 in the LRC. If you ordered photos and were absent for the first picture day, your order will be carried over. If you are taking a makeup photo and would like to order photos, please fill out a printed order form, available in room L-3. Online ordering will not be available.
AD Appreciation Week (9/14-9/18)
This week is athletic administrators week. This is a time to honor the individuals who make a lasting impact on our school and in our community. This week, we would like to recognize our athletic directors Mr. Dan Lyons and Mrs. Deven Bukoski, whose dedication ensures that student-athletes have safe, meaningful, and memorable experiences. Thank you, Mr. Lyons and Mrs. Bukoski, for your leadership and everything that you do to instill Viking Pride in our school community, we appreciate you!
[VIDEO] PAAC Ramen Fundraiser
Aloha Viks! Are you hungry after school? The Pacific & Asian Affairs Council, also known as the PAAC Club, will be selling cup noodles after school every Tuesday and Thursday in Shehata Senseiʻs room in P-3 from 2:15 pm to 2:45 pm. This fundraiser will support our trip to the Jeju International Youth Forum in South Korea in October! Thank you!
