Hilo High School JROTC Cadets Do Well at Waianae Adventure Challenge

The purpose of Waianae Adventure Challenge was for cadets to experience a challenging and exciting competition with emphasis on cadet growth in leadership, teamwork, and camaraderie.  WAC is a part of a DOE approved activity and a direct extension of what is taught in the JROTC classroom.

Waianae HS JROTC hosted the WAC during the week of April 20-22, 2018, at the Herbert K. Pililaau Army Recreation Center (PARC) and at  Waianae High School campus.  JROTC units from across the state of Hawaii competed in the following events:  water crossing, swimming, running, canoe paddling, rope bridge, physical fitness test, obstacle course, tug of war, and other challenging team building events.

Hilo High JROTC placed:
         1st in Tug of War event
         2nd in Canoe Paddling and Swimming Events
         3rd in Cross Country Run
