Career Fair Special Activity Consent Form
Aloha, Vikings! We are excited to inform you that you will ALL have the opportunity to attend a Career Fair during school at the New Gym on Friday, February 1st. Some of the exhibits are more interactive, and require your parent or guardian's consent. If you may be interested in operating heavy machinery, pounding some nails, having your hair styled, receiving a massage, or touring a boom truck, please pick up a consent form from the Counseling Center in A-1 or from the Front Office. Consent forms must be signed and returned to A-1 by Thursday, January 31st. Remember, ALL Vikings will attend the Career Fair, and be able to visit with most of the presenters. Consent forms are only required for certain activities.
Hawaii Community College Field Trip
Attention, Vikings! Are you interested in a trade or technical career in the future? Want to start your college journey at a cheaper cost? Come to A-1 to pick up a field trip form to learn more about Hawaii Community College. We will be visiting them on Thursday, February 14th, leaving school at 8:45am and returning to school at 11:15am. Forms are due back with signatures by February 8th. Hope you can join us!
Junior Prom
Hey Class of 2020! Thank you to those of you who picked up a prom packet! Just a reminder this year's junior prom will be held on Sunday, March 17 at the Hilo Yacht Club. Packet payment and drop-off, bid pass out and table selection will be from January 28th to February 1st. During this time we will also be looking for anyone interested in running for prom queen or prom king! Please stop by A12-B to pay, choose your table, and sign up for prom queen or prom king.Thank you!
Portland State University Western Undergraduate Exchange Tuition Deadline
Just a reminder that Portland State's WUE application deadline was officially moved back to Friday, February 1st for applicants this year. This means that students who've yet to apply to Portland State still have an opportunity to submit their application, be admitted, and be considered for our biggest tuition discount offered to out-of-state students. First-year students qualify by having either a 3.2 cumulative unweighted high school GPA, a 1270 SAT, or a 27 ACT. Any one of those three criteria will qualify a student.

BIIF Wrestling Duals Tournament
Come out and support the Viking Wrestling Team as we host and compete in a first time ever on the Big Island, a "Duals Style" Wrestling Tournament, teams from respective high schools will go head to head this Saturday February 2, 2019 from 10am to 4:30pm at Hilo High School New Gym.
HHS JUDO SIGN UP
"Anyone still interested in joining the Boys & Girls Judo team? Come see Coach Kerwyn to sign up at the old gym. Practices are currently held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM. A current physical and parental consent form is needed to participate. Last day to sign up is February 8, 2019. Wrestlers who intend to join judo, please report on February 25, 2019."
LEO CLUB MEETING

HHS VARSITY BASEBALL TRYOUTS
Varsity Baseball tryouts will begin on February 4, 2019 at 3:30 PM at Wong Stadium. All Interested athletes must have a current physical on file to participate. Pre-season conditioning for those currently NOT in any winter sport will begin on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 3:30 PM at Wong Stadium. You must have a current physical on file to participate in pre-season conditioning.
HHS TRACK & FIELD TRYOUT
Track & Field tryouts will begin on February 4, 2019 at 3:30 PM. Meet at the pool bleachers. A current physical and consent form must be on file to tryout. You must attend even if you do not have your physical completed. If you are currently in a winter sport, report to practice as soon as your season has ended. Be prepared to practice on the first day.
HHS BOYS & GIRLS GOLF TRYOUTS
Boys & Girls tryouts will be held on February 4 - 9, 2019 at Hilo Muni from 3:30PM. You must have a current physical on file to participate. You must have your own gold clubs, ball and shoes. There is a fee for the Hilo Muni, please call Coach Randy at 934-0049 for more information.
Boys and Girl’s Tennis
To all boys and girls interested in trying out for tennis: Please see coach Leanne in F-Bldg. to sign-up and grab an information paper. Hitting & conditioning is going on every Tues., Wed., & Fri. 4:30 -6 pm at Hilo Inter courts. Try-outs will be held on Feb. 11 through Feb. 13th, so don't forget to have a current physical done. Forms can be picked up at the front office or athletic office. Here is today’s menu.
