Hey Juniors and Seniors Do you want to be a hero and save lives right here in Hawaii? On January 22nd we will be having our annual blood drive . By donating blood you can help save up to 3 lives! Sign Up to get a form today until December 6th,2019 in BB102, or if you have the teachers you can also sign up with Mrs. Kalawe, Mr. Sato, and Mrs. Blair. Sign Up before its to late because remember, YOU ARE SOMEONES TYPE! Thank you!

National Honor Society - Canned Food Drive (Due November 27, 2019)

Happy Thanksgiving Week, Vikings! This is a reminder that we are still collecting donations of canned and non-perishable food donations in room A-1 this week. All donations will be taken to the Hawaii Food Basket on Wednesday after school. On top of giving to your community members who might be in need, you can earn 2 Hero Points for every can donated. Remember that we have lots to be thankful for, so lets "Give What We CAN!"

“It is Unlawful for Anyone under the Age of 21 to Purchase, Use or Possess any Tobacco Product or Electronic Smoking Device”

Pursuant to Act 206 (2018), Section 712-1258, Hawaii Revised Statutes, it is unlawful for any student under the age of 21 to purchase or possess any tobacco product or electronic smoking device. In addition, any tobacco product or electronic smoking device found in a student’s possession is committing a Hawaii Administrative Rules Chapter 19 offense. It shall be seized by school administration and forfeited to law enforcement.

Project Vision Hawaii Conducts Free Screening

On October 28, 29,& 30 Project Vision Hawaii offered FREE vision screening for all students at Hilo High School! The screening took about 15-20 minutes per student as they underwent various preliminary vision checks. Students from our Clinical Health Pathway classes assisted with the screening process, along with members of our local Lions Clubs. Students identified for further testing may also be eligible for free glasses!!

Career Fair (11/14/2019)

We will be attending the Career Fair on Thursday, November 14th. You'll have the chance to speak directly with professionals in different careers, who represent all 6 career pathways. We will need to miss all of pd 1 and 1st recess on November 14th. We will return to school a few minutes tardy to pd 3. Forms can be picked up from Ms. Lawrence or Ms. Frias in A-1. Signed forms are due back to A-1 by Nov 12th. Space is limited to 2 buses - return your forms ASAP.

Seniors Reminded To Remain Focused On Commencement One Quarter Away

"To this end, the Hawaii Department of Education Regulations 4540 allow administrators to revoke a student’s privilege of participating in the commencement exercises after determining that a Chapter 19 offense was committed by the student during the fourth quarter of the senior year. That is, a student in the fourth quarter of their senior year must not commit a Class A or B offense or multiple Class C or D offenses."
