The Agriculture Food and Natural Resources Pathway teaches students about the numerous local and worldwide opportunities in the important field of agriculture. Students will gain hands-on, classroom, and field trip experiences learning new skills in growing plants and raising animals using the latest technology. Students will learn about enhancing food security, fostering environmental stewardship, and providing sustainability for current and future generations.

The Culinary Pathway engages students through various labs, activities, and community projects. We pride ourselves on the safety and sanitation within the classroom, while building students creativity and skills within the kitchen. This program is ideal for anyone who wants to learn basic skills needed in the hospitality industry to include, but not limited to safety, sanitation, customer service, communication, baking, frying, sauteing, knife cuts, etc. The soft skills students must portray and learn within the class include, but are not limited to: respect, selflessness, responsibility, commitment, perseverance, quality vs. quantity, efficiency, directing/managing, and integrity. We enjoy serving our Hilo High community, as well as our Big Island community in many capacities. This hands-on class will give you firsthand experience, which will prepare students for a career in the hospitality industry.

The Fire & Emergency Services Pathway gives students the skills and confidence to respond in emergencies and help protect their communities. With hands-on training and teamwork, students will learn fire safety, first response, and leadership skills that prepare them for future careers in public safety and emergency services.

The Law Enforcement Services Services Pathway introduces students to the basics of public safety and the criminal justice system. Students learn about laws, policing, investigations, and community relations while developing skills in communication, teamwork, and responsibility. This program provides a strong foundation for those interested in pursuing careers in law enforcement, security, or criminal justice.

The Nursing Services Pathway prepares students for a career in healthcare by teaching essential nursing and patient care skills. Designed for those who want to help others, the program offers hands-on learning through classes, clinical training, internships, volunteering, and job shadowing at local healthcare facilities. Students study topics like the human body, medical terms, and healthcare ethics. After graduating, they can continue their nursing education or take the Hawai‘i Prometric CNA exam for immediate job opportunities through our partnership with the Healthcare Association of Hawaii.
