Meal Charges
Students are allowed to charge meals when funds are not in account.
Students are allowed to charge meals up to five (5) times collectively, with the total owed amount not more than 5 times their purchase rate category.
When a student does not have sufficient funds to pay for meals, he or she may charge the meal to their account.
This charge will result in a negative balance that the student must repay to be considered a student in good standing.
Charges should be repaid to the school office as soon as possible, but no later than 2-weeks before the end of the school year.
Charges are not permitted during the last 2 weeks of the school year.
It is a requirement that Hilo High School students be Students in Good Standing - meaning free of any financial obligations in order to participate in extra-curricular activities such as Prom, Dances, serve on courts, Commencement Ceremonies.
