Free Vision Screenings (10/28 - 30, 2019)

The Hawaii Dept. of Education in coordination with non-profit organizations Project Vision Hawaii (PVH) and Vision to Learn VTL), will be providing free vision screenings on Oct. 28-30. If a student shows further need, a trained optometrist will provide a FREE exam and if required, FREE glasses as well.

Mele Murals

Mele Murals will be teaming with a core hui of 9th graders to teach mo'olelo of Hilo, design a mural and finally paint a large mural on the wall facing the track.

Hilo High Amnesty International Club (October 21, 2019)

If you are interested in human rights or taking a stand on important issues than you should join Hilo High's Amnesty International Club. Japan Club Jamba Juice Jundraiser (October 2019)

Jamba Juice is being sold at the front of the auditorium for 5 dollars.
They will be available after school on Mondays and Wednesday’s until the end of the month. Stop by and pick one up!

SY 19-20 Picture Day Make Ups

Big Island Adventure Challenge (October 26-27, 2019)

Annual Big Island Adventure Challenge, JROTC will be hosting a JROTC Physical Fitness Challenge at Hilo High School Track/Field on October 26th from 9am to 4pm and October 27th from 8am to 12pm

2019 National Unity Day Activities

In the month of October, we will be celebrating National Unity Day and show our desire to prevent bullying. Let’s all unite by participating in these activities.

Class of 2022 - T-Shirt Pre-Order (10/16 - 18, 2019)

Calling all Sophomores. We will be collecting pre-orders for your class t-shirts on Wednesday, October 16 until Friday, October 18 in Mrs. Araki's room C209 at lunch recess. Sizes small to large will be $10 and 2XL is $11. Buy a shirt and show your class pride!


Please come to A-16 at recess and lunch beginning on October 14th (the first day back from fall break) to pick up cards that you can make. Each card can be turned in for 5 HERO points and you can make a total of 4 cards to earn a maximum of 20 points. All cards are DUE on October 30 back to A-16 at recess and lunch.

February 27, 2019 SCC Community Meeting

The Hilo High School Community Council (SCC) is inviting you to attend our Community Meeting.  Over the past school year the SCC has been working to alleviate some concerns brought up at our previous Community Meeting.

The concerns were split into four categories.  Transitions to the World of Work, Student/Family Support, Curriculum and Course Availability, and Faculty Issues.

C-215 is Open!

C-215 computer lab is open during recess and lunch. Students have access to A/C, Desktop computers, and printing services. You can also go there for help using Infinite Campus or Google Apps.
